Former sports minister Tracey Crouch is hoping Tottenham Hotspur will 'nail' tomorrow night's Champions League final.

The Chatham and Aylesford MP is currently boarding a flight to Madrid to watch her team take on Liverpool.

Earlier she Tweeted a picture of her toenails which an 11-year-old Spurs fan neighbour painted navy blue with sparkles for good luck.

Speaking to KentOnline as she boarded her flight she was careful not to make any predictions.

The FA qualified coach said: "I'm not going to make a prediction. It's a win win for Spurs. If we win that's fantastic but no one expected us to get there.

"I'm wishing all the fans back home a good game. We've got a lot of Spurs supporters in Medway and I just hope they all enjoy the game."

Miss Crouch bought tickets after Spurs won their semi-final earlier this month.

Spurs made a miraculous come back to fend off Dutch champions Ajax in the semi-final, hat trick hero Lucas Moura's 96th minute goal sending them through on aggregate.

After the match Miss Crouch tweeted: "Alexa, cancel my diary for 1st June. And 2nd. And call me an ambulance with breathing apparatus on board....#COYS #WTAFjusthappend #UCL #UCLfinal"

Liverpool's victory against Barcelona the previous night came in even more remarkable circumstances.

Jurgen Klopp's men trailed 3-0 after a superhuman display by Lionel Messi in the first leg but with the full force of the Anfield crowd behind them recorded a historic 4-0 victory.

They were unlucky not to win the Premier League, with Manchester City pipping them by a point on the final day in one of the highest scoring battles in history.

Spurs, who knocked City out of the Champions League in the quarter final, finished fourth.

The north London side will meet the Reds at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano Stadium at 8pm tomorrow.

Victory for Liverpool would see them lift the trophy for a sixth time, while if Spurs come out on top they'll be crowned kings of Europe for the first time.
