A crash that involved at least three vehicles has caused tailbacks along the M2.

Police were called to the scene on the London bound carriageway just after 5.40am this morning.

Traffic was temporarily held on the main road between Junctions 3 and 2 near the Medway Bridge.

There are roadworks in the area, which meant two lanes were already shut.

All lanes have since reopened but congestion remains in the area.

No injuries were reported.
