Two neighbours had a blazing row after a fence caught fire between their two homes.

A video shows the fence alight in Mountbatten Avenue, in Chatham yesterday evening.

As the fence burned, tempers flared and two neighbours had a pretty heated shouting match over who was to blame for the fire.

The fire service was called at around 8.20pm and the blaze was put out in 20 minutes.

A firefighter from the Chatham crew said one of the neighbours had helpfully thrown water over the flames before they arrived.

Ansis Valdmanis caught the fire and argument on video and posted it on humour and satire Facebook group Medway Misérables.

He said: "I was driving my motorbike when I saw this smoke above the house roof.

"My first thoughts was that the actual house was on fire.

"When I drove a bit closer I realised that the fence between two properties was burning and the old lady was blaming her next door neighbour.

"She was shouting, ''It's all your fault, don't just stand there and do nothing''.

"Then 2 fire brigades arrived and got everything under control."

Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman Kirsty Geary said: "Two fire engines attended and crews extinguished the fire.

"There were no reported injuries and the cause isn’t known."
