The festive season has come early for Rochester after its Christmas lights were switched on tonight in what was described as a "magical" evening.
People came together to watch the annual event in Military Square, where special guests included Robbie White, star of Netflix drama Heartstopper.
kmfm's Rob Wills hosted a variety of entertainment including performances from local solo singer Shalamar and the See My Voice hand sign choir.
Robbie White, star of Netflix drama series Heartstopper, a British coming-of-age story exploring relationships and identity, was there to the delight of the crowds.
The Studio of Arts dance group also thrilled the packed crowds.
Snow White and Prince Charming from this year's pantomime at the Central Theatre in Chatham joined mayor Cllr Jan Aldous in turning on the lights as a countdown saw Rochester illuminated for the festive season.
Along with the entertainment there were also free items for people to take and snow machines to make it really feel like Christmas.
Organised by Medway Council, it follows successful events at Strood, Chatham and Gillingham with sponsors Specsavers Medway also helping to bring the festive joy.
One spectator of the event said: "It was great family atmosphere and felt like Christmas had been officially launched.
"The lights looked beautiful with every shop lit up - it looked magical"
Rochester was the penultimate town to be lit by Medway Council, with the final event being in Rainham next Friday.
