Netminder Andy Moffat came out of retirement to help Invicta Dynamos beat NIHL Southern League leaders Romford Raiders on Sunday.
Moffat (pictured) received the call-up after the Mos were left short following a decision to dismiss regular goalie David Wride.
Head coach Kevin Parrish was unavailable to comment on the dismissal this week but a brief statement appeared on the club’s website.
It said: "David Wride has been dismissed from the club with immediate effect due to gross misconduct.
"The club cannot make any further comment on this matter and will instead be focusing all of our efforts on completing our league campaign and challenging for the NIHL southern play-offs."
Wride's final Mos game came on Saturday as the team slumped to a 9-3 defeat at Romford in the Southern Cup.
With Moffat in the side on Sunday, Parrish’s men exacted revenge on Romford, with a 7-2 win in the league.
This weekend is the penultimate one of the regular league season, ahead of the play-offs. The Mos head to Bracknell Hornets on Saturday before hosting Wightlink Raiders the next day (5.15pm face-off).
