A woman jailed for six years for her part in a plot which saw a man murdered has started a new life with a rising Labour Party star.

Former Rochester Grammar School pupil Mundill Mahil, was locked up after she played the ‘honeytrap’ part in the brutal murder of TV executive 21-year-old Gagandip Singh.

Mahil, who grew up in Chatham, was jailed five years ago at the Old Bailey for causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Mahil, who is in her 20s, was released half way through her sentence in 2014, according to the Daily Mail.

She has now married Labour member, Varinder Singh, at a lavish ceremony held at the Medway Towns’ Gurdwara, in Lankester Parker Road, in Rochester, where she apparently wore a £3,000 wedding dress.

Afterwards, it is said more than 500 people helped the couple celebrate their nuptials at Cobham Hall in Higham.

Five years ago the medical student lured Gagandip to an address where he was beaten by Harvinder Shoker and Darren Peters and tied up before being burnt alive in the boot of a car which was found not far from Greenwich Park in London.

At the time, Judge Worsley QC told Mahil: “You did not intend his death but you had decided that he should be seriously beaten.

"You witnessed the start of the attack and then you left the room. You heard him shout your name. You did nothing to save or protect him.

“You did not call the police although it was clear he had been silenced and driven away.

Shoker, 20, of Charlton Park Lane, Greenwich, was jailed for life with a minimum 22-year term after being found guilty of murder.

Peters, 20, of Shooters Hill Road, Blackheath, was sentenced to 12 years in a young offenders’ institution after being found guilty of manslaughter.

Mahil’s newly-found happiness has sparked fury from Gagandip’s family and his sister and mum said it was painful to see her starting a new life.

New photos of the newlyweds show her in Greenwich Park gazing into the eyes of her new husband, Varinder, who is an Ilford councillor who works as a senior official in the office of Ilford South MP Mike Gapes.

According to the paper, Gagandip’s heartbroken mother Tajinder Singh, 49, branded the photographs “beyond belief”.

She said it was painful to see Mahil going on to build her own family when hers had been ripped apart so violently.

The victim’s sister, Amandip, 23, added: “I think it’s disgusting. It’s five minutes from where it happened.

“It seems she has just started over, as if nothing happened. In court she tried to make herself seem innocent, and depressed.

“But it didn’t take her long to get over things. She has been out for a year and already married.

“Why have a photoshoot in Greenwich? Surely it would bring back bad memories?”
