A new nursery is bringing the outdoors in with a garden room for the children to enjoy.
Gymfinity Kids has opened its second nursery in Kent inside the former Dickens World building at Chatham Maritime.
Catering for children aged from six weeks to five years old, the nursery is part of Gymfinity's new activity centre and will have a focus on movement. Children will spend at least 60 minutes on the gym floor each day, where they can "explore the amazing machine that is the human body, whether that’s learning a forward roll or just enjoying being active."
The facility has rooms for each age group from babies to pre-schoolers, but with no garden the nursery has created an indoor garden room instead with lots of natural light. It features artificial grass, natural materials to play with, a mud kitchen, trikes to ride on, a messy play area and reading corner.
The nursery will also focus on mindfulness and ways to enhance children's well being – for example little ones who do not sleep well or find napping difficult will take part in yoga or a mindfulness session delivered by trained staff.
Best-selling author Annabel Karmel is Gymfinity Kids' ambassador for nourishment. The compnay says children at their nurseries "eat the most nutritional, healthy and tasty food to provide them with the energy they need to be active, to play and to support their learning".
Anita Wilden, head of nursery operations at Gymfinity Kids, said: “At Gymfinity Kids, everything we do is rooted in an ambition to lay the foundations for a happier, healthier nation.
"The pandemic saw inactivity levels soar and it is now more important than ever to get children active, to fuel their bodies with healthy food and to support their development.
"We are so excited to have opened our largest and most impressive club and nursery to date, in Chatham, and to encourage even more children to love being active from an early age.”
Parents can now register their child for a nursery place and receive £0 registration fee plus 10% off for three months.
