Five men have been released without charge after an incident in which a squatter was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police and paramedics were called to New Road, Chatham, at 2.20pm on Saturday January 10, 2015, to reports of a disturbance.
A 23-year-old man was taken to King's College Hospital, London, with injuries to his head and chest. He spent 24 hours in the high dependency unit with a suspected punctured lung and a fractured jaw.
Two 40-year-old men and a 39-year-old from London, a 29-year-old from Chatham, were arrested on suspicion of assault. A 40-year-old from London was arrested on suspicion of affray.
They were all released without charge on Friday.
