00:00, 06 September 2017

Iceland in Chatham will close for three weeks for a £600,000 refurbishment.

The store will be closed from 4pm tomorrow and reopen on September 28 at 7am.

This is the latest in a series of make-overs of stores across the country which started with the branch in Clapham Common in October last year.

A new fascia and front will be put in, as well as digital signs inside to help people find their way around the aisles.

There will also be new checkouts and freezers.

As well as the new furniture and equipment, there will also be new products hitting the shelves, from frozen food to fresh fruit and vegetables, cupboard staples and alcoholic drinks.

Photos taken from stores in Harrow and Kentish Town show what the store will look like when it opens at the end of September.

The nearest alternative stores are in Gillingham and Strood High Streets.
