Elderly man found dead in Ingle Road, Chatham lay undiscovered for eight weeks

A pensioner who was found dead in his home earlier this week could have been lying undiscovered for as long as eight weeks.
The elderly man, 78, who has not been named, was found dead a his home in Chatham on Thursday but police say his death is not being treated a suspicious.
Officers were called out to his address in Ingle Road, shortly before noon that day and discovered his body inside.
One neighbour told officers the man had not been seen for about eight weeks.
Police will now prepare a report for the coroner.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Kent Police was called at 11.56am on Thursday, June 15, following the discovery of a man’s body at his home in Ingle Road, Chatham.
“Officers attended but the death is not currently being treated as suspicious. A report will now be prepared for the coroner.”
