Woman from Rochester dies after crash on A228 Sundridge Hill near Strood

A pensioner has died after being hit by a car while pushing her bike along the road.

The 73-year-old lady from Rochester died in hospital earlier this week after the crash on Sundridge Hill near Strood on January 10.

Police are now renewing their appeal for witnesses to come forward and help the investigation.

The victim was taken to hospital in London but died on Monday from her injuries, police confirmed today.

The collision involved a grey Citroen C4 Picasso on the A228 heading towards Cuxton at about 4pm.

A woman from Rochester was arrested in connection with the incident which left the elderly woman with serious injuries.

The 43-year-old has been released while investigations continue.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the incident and are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who may have dashcam footage, to call the appeals line on 01622 798538.
