13:44, 23 August 2013
The pilot of this plane had a lucky escape when the nose wheel on his aircraft collapsed on landing at Rochester Airport earlier today.
The craft, thought to be a Piper, landed at the airport but as it did the front part of the wheel is thought to have collapsed on landing.
Medway resident, Clive Tillotson, was driving past and was able to take this photo, at about 1pm.
Mr Tillotson, said: “I saw the plane like it was with the nose on the floor and so stopped my car and took a photo.”
Kelvin Carr, manager at the site, in Maidstone Road, Rochester, said: “I can confirm we have had an incident at the airport, but there were no injuries.
Mr Carr didn't want to comment further on the incident until a thorough investigation had been completed.
