A stolen car was recovered in minutes and two suspects arrested within an hour after a police chase.
A Range Rover was reported to have been taken from a property in Chatham, at around 9.25pm on Monday. It was found, and seized, around 15 minutes later in Hallsfield Road.
A silver Volkswagen Passat, which was parked next to the empty Range Rover, drove away as patrols arrived.
Suspicions aroused, officers conducted a search and tracked the VW. It was found travelling on the London-bound A2 at around 10.15pm.
A pursuit was authorised and, around seven minutes later, the suspect vehicle stopped in the Dartford Tunnel.
Two men, aged 37 and 39 and from the Walthamstow area of London, were arrested on suspicion of theft and taken into custody.
Both have since been released pending further investigation.
