Body found amid search for missing man near Strood Retail Park and Morrisons in Knight Road

A body has been found near a supermarket.

A police cordon was put up between Strood Retail Park and Morrisons in Knight Road this afternoon.

The force has now confirmed the body of a man was found at the site.

Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of 25-year-old Regan Phillips, who has been missing since Friday, October 18, have been informed.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

Seven police cars were parked in the area after being called just before 11.10am.

Coastguard and Kent Fire and Rescue vans were also in the area.

Ambulances were also seen leaving the cordon.

A witness said: “I’ve never seen anything like this ever. There were two police cars at first and now there are loads.”
