Police helicopter over Chatham searching for suspects after 'armed men' spotted in Rochester street

A police hunt has been launched this afternoon after reports of two armed men arguing in a road in Rochester.
The police helicopter was scrambled to track down the suspects who fled in two separate cars following a row in Castle Avenue, a residential area off Delce Road.
The chopper was seen hovering above Chatham throughout the afternoon.
James Walker, police spokesman, said: "Kent Police was called at 12.43pm on Thursday, July 15 to a report of a verbal dispute involving two men in the Castle Avenue area of Rochester.
"A witness stated both men may have been in possession of weapons, before they left the area in two different cars.
"A search to locate the vehicles took place, with assistance provided by the National Police Air Service.
"Inquiries to locate the vehicles are ongoing."
