09:00, 21 November 2013
Detectives have released this e-fit image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a sex attack in Gillingham.
Officers say a woman in her 20s told them she was touched inappropriately in the crutch area by a man who grabbed her by the scruff of her coat as she was walking along Byron Road.
The incident is said to have occurred between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Saturday, November 9, but has only just been revealed by police.
The woman was walking along the road towards Longfellow Road when she says she was grabbed round the scruff by the man, before he grabbed her crutch area through her coat.
The man, who was with another man at the time, also threatened her and made suggestive remarks to her, but she shouted at him and fought him off then both men ran off in the direction of Windmill Road.
The suspect is said to be black, of medium build, about 5ft 6ins and between 26 and 35 years old.
He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top with a white zip and white hood trim, and dark bottoms.
The attacker was said to have distinctive marks, possibly scars, on his face.
DC Daniel Mead who is investigating the incident, said: “The assault lasted a matter of seconds but has left the victim badly shaken and distressed.
“She has worked with us to create an e-fit of a man we believe could help with our enquiries.
