Police release efit following sexual assault of 14-year-old girl in Canterbury Street, Gillingham

Police have released an efit image of a young man they would like to speak to following the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.

The incident is reported to have taken place at around 4.30pm on Tuesday April 21 in the area of Canterbury Street, Gillingham.

The girl was walking home when she was approached by a man. It is reported that he sexually assaulted her. After the assault he apologised and ran down a nearby alleyway.

The suspect is described as being, a white male aged between 16 and 18. He is slim, about 5ft 8in with short brown hair. He has several teeth missing and a chipped tooth. He was wearing a dirty grey tracksuit.

Investigating officer DC Jonathan Pearce said: "This is a brazen assault which took place in the middle of the afternoon on a busy road in Gillingham.

"If anyone can help us with our enquiries, please come forward."
