Image released after woman raped in Gillingham Park

Police want to speak to a man with a London accent and stud earring after a woman was raped in a park last month.

Detectives are investigating the incident after a woman told police she was pushed into a bush in Gillingham Park, Gillingham on Monday, May 4.

She told officers one of the men held her down while the other raped her at around 5pm.

Now, police have released an e-fit of one of two suspects they want to talk to in relation to the attack, which was reported on Thursday.

The man in the computer-generated image is believed to be in his 20s and is of "a large build with a broad chest".

He was wearing a black short-sleeved t-shirt, grey joggers, grey Nike trainers with white soles and had a stud earring in his left ear.

Police have also said he spoke with a London accent.

"We are working quickly to identify those involved..."

The second man was slim, wearing a grey short-sleeved t-shirt, black flared jeans and had a tattoo on his left hand.

He was also wearing a silver chain hanging from a belt loop on his jeans.

Investigating officer DI Neil Kimber said: "We understand this might cause some worry in the local community and want to reassure residents we are working quickly to identify those involved.

"I would urge people to remain vigilant and to contact us with any information they believe may assist us with our investigation."
