Police have issued an e-fit image of the suspect involved in a stabbing which left a man and woman injured.
The attack happened at 4.30am in Gardiner Street in Gillingham on Sunday, October 22.
Officers found a man with stab wounds at the scene, and he had to be taken to hospital in London.
A woman was also found injured at a property nearby, but did not require hospital treatment.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on the same day and was charged with aggravated burglary with intent.
But after new information came to light he was released and will face no further action in connection with the attack.
Now police have revealed the new computer generated image of their suspect. Medway CID Det Sgt Richard Taylor said he believes the incident was a “random and unprovoked attack on an innocent couple”.
He said: “‘Following our initial enquiries we made a swift arrest and charged a man in connection to this incident, however we have since established he is not the offender and he has been released.
“With the help of the victims, we have now compiled a computer generated image and we are hopeful someone may recognise the person depicted and will get in touch with the police.”
Anyone who recognises the man in the image or has information about this incident is asked to contact the appeals line on 01634 792209 quoting crime reference XY/054323/17 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
