British Transport Police officer, Sgt Matthew Grist, from Gillingham charged with fraud

A British Transport Police officer who lives in Medway has been charged with fraud by Surrey Police.
Sgt Matthew Grist, who lives in Gillingham, was arrested in October last year and was charged with one count of fraud by false representation on Sunday, May 14.
Grist is due to appear at Stains Magistrates’ Court, in Knowle Green, on Thursday, June 1.
An investigation by the British Transport Police’s professional standards department has been started, but is pending to allow the criminal prosecution to take place.
Sgt Grist is suspended from duty whilst the court case is ongoing.
