A person has been taken to hospital after collapsing in the street.
Paramedics and police were called to Gillingham this afternoon following the medical incident.
Traffic reports said Cross Street was shut in both directions but it has since reopened.
A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service (Seacamb) said they were called to James Street, which meets Cross Street, at 2.20pm because a person had collapsed.
Paramedics were assisted by the air ambulance and the patient was treated at the scene.
They were then taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford by road and described by the Secamb spokesman as being in a serious condition.
