The annual Pride in Medway awards evening has been postponed.

It was due to take place at Bridgewood Manor, Chatham, on April 24.

The event, which is in its 19th year, celebrates unsung heroes and organisation from across the Medway Towns.

In a statement, organisers said: "We have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the gala evening.

"Given the government's advice regarding Covid-19, we feel it is the appropriate action to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.

"We have received some amazing nominations this year and look forward to being able to confirm a new date to announce the winners as soon as we can.

"We will update by email once we have confirmation of a new date and via our social media channels and website.

"We send our very best wishes to each and everyone of you at this time."

Last month a special certificate presentation was held at Mid-Kent College, Gillingham, to celebrate this year's nominees.
