It is a big day for Year 6 pupils, and their parents, as they find out which secondary school has offered them a place.
The majority of children in Medway should be happy as 89% have been accepted by their first or second choice.
93% of children will be off to their preferred secondary school in September 2019.
There are 3,300 pupils who have been offered places.
According to the council, every Medway child who applied on time has secured a school place.
This year the council's school admissions and transport team processed applications for 4,036 children, including 736 children from outside Medway.
Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Education Attainment and Improvement Cllr Martin Potter said: “Thousands of children across Medway will be finding out which secondary school they will be going to and more than 90 per cent have been allocated a place at one of their preferred schools.
"Going to secondary school is a big step and I would like to wish them the best of luck for the future."
“Planning for the provision of school places with a growing population is a challenging task so I would like to thank our school organisation team for all their hard work.”
Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services, Cllr Andrew Mackness said: “Finding out which secondary school children will be going to is a very exciting time for them and their families so I am very pleased that many have been allocated a place at one of their preferred schools.
"I wish them all the best as they continue their education.
“I would like to thank our admissions team for all of their hard work.
"Medway continues to be a popular destination for families to move to which increases the number of children who need school places so it a testament to the team’s hard work that the majority of families receive offers at one of their preferred schools.”
