A record company boss has been charged after multiple shots were fired off a penthouse balcony.

Michael Alunomoh, 33, will appear at Medway Magistrates' Court this morning after the stand-off near Chatham Dockside yesterday morning.

During the incident several clips were uploaded to Instagram showing off an arsenal of imitation weapons to the sound of 90s rapper Tupac Shakur.

The suspect then moves outside and shoots a handgun several times into the air – footage filmed by neighbours and also widely circulated shows the terrifying scenes below.

One man can be heard to say: "Now he is aiming down here!"

At one point the shooter yells "So let the Westside ride tonight", a lyric from Tupac's 1996 track Hit 'Em Up.

The song is a diss of rival Notorious BIG and at another point during the live stream the suspect booms "**** Biggie! **** Bad Boy! (Biggie Small's record label)".

He also yells "are you scared?" at police assembled below and gestures for them to come up.

Heavily armed officers who had descended on the scene near The Range on the far edge of Dockside Outlet Shopping Centre just after 8.30am later stormed the apartment.

Six imitation guns were seized.

The Truth Or Dare Records CEO has now been charged with possession of imitation firearms with intent to cause fear of violence.

St Mary's Island was shut off at the height of the drama as a helicopter hovered overhead.

One neighbour said at the time: "There was a lot of banging just over an hour ago, I just assumed it was construction workers.

Armed police storm the block

"There was armed police outside The Range who waved everyone back, they moved towards the noise.

"Staff at The Range have been trying to catch everyone and get them into the shop.

"Someone across the way shouted about someone having a gun.

"There's a police helicopter flying above."
