The appearance of a record company boss on gun charges has been delayed again.

Michael Alunomoh was scheduled to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court this afternoon, after multiple shots were fired off a penthouse balcony near Chatham Dockside on Wednesday morning.

But the 33-year-old was taken to hospital for medical treatment and was not deemed fit for court.

It was decided the hearing would be adjourned until tomorrow.

Judge Goldspring added that if Alunomoh's mental health is "still as acutely bad as it seems," then he would be able to be transferred to the mental health psychiatric hospital after the Magistrates' Court hearing.

The hearing was initially due to go ahead yesterday.

The Truth Or Dare Records CEO was charged on Thursday, 24 April, with possession of imitation firearms with intent to cause fear of violence.

Several clips were uploaded to Instagram during the incident, showing off a number of imitation weapons to the sound of 90s rapper Tupac Shakur.

The suspect then moves outside and shoots a handgun several times into the air – footage was filmed by neighbours and circulated online.

Heavily armed officers stormed the apartment opposite the Range on the far edge of Dockside Outlet Shopping Centre in Chatham, and the suspect was taken away in handcuffs.

Six imitation firearms were seized.

St Mary's Island was shut off for a brief time as a helicopter hovered overhead.

A neighbour who lives close to the mall said: "There was a lot of banging just over an hour ago, I just assumed it was construction workers.

"There was armed police outside The Range who waved everyone back, they moved towards the noise.

"Staff at The Range have been trying to catch everyone and get them into the shop.

"Someone across the way shouted about someone having a gun."

Anthony Sutton, centre manager at Dockside Shopping Outlet, said: "An incident of this nature unfortunately is not uncommon in today's world.

"My security manager put in place an invacuation procedure to keep everyone safe inside until the police arrived."

The mall manager praised the "exemplary response of the blue lights on the day" which he said arrived within ten minutes and reaffirmed the shopping centre's response to the incident.
