The incident took place close to the bus stop at the junction with Cookham Hill at about 4pm.

Two ambulances and police cars blocked the road in the village near Rochester and the patients were taken to hospital.

Traffic was blocked along Borstal Street and had to be diverted around the scene after the road was shut for about an hour.

Witnesses said a child had been hurt in the crash and highlighted long-standing concerns about the junction and potential risk of someone being hurt there.

The road reopened at about 5pm.

A police spokesman said a van and two pedestrians had been involved in a collision.

The man and child suffered minor injuries but were taken to hospital for further treatment.
