A residential road was blocked as firefighters spent three hours tackling a blaze after a number of sheds caught alight.
Crews were spotted in Holcombe Road, Chatham, at about 2.30pm today.
Pictures show two fire engines in the street, with part of it being taped off.
In total, four fire engines were called to the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the flames with hose reel jets.
Emma Lloyd called the fire service after spotting black smoke billowing from the back of a property. She says crews were at the scene five minutes later.
“I was visiting my mum and her dog started going mad in the garden,” Emma explained.
“She looked out the back and saw the fire. We called 999 and they told us they were already aware.
“There were quite a few bangs – things were popping and flying about.
“A neighbour was using a hosepipe but the fire went up really quickly.”
Kerry Mahoney, a nearby neighbour, believes the smoke was coming from a bungalow near the junction of Holcombe Road and Neale Street.
“A couple of people that live further down said it was a shed on fire,” she added.
“There hasn’t been any other emergency services that we have seen.”
Firefighters declared their response complete at 4.11pm.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson confirmed crews were called to reports of a shed alight.
“It’s believed that a fire started inside one shed which then spread to adjacent sheds,” they said.
“Four fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
“There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.”
