Scally seeking support from Dubai

Gillingham chairman Paul Scally is set to publish a presentation document highlighting the club’s potential in Medway in a bid to attract new investors.
Mr Scally is seeking backers for his plans to move Gillingham into a new stadium complex and hopes his connections in Dubai will help achieve that goal.
"I am working at producing a full presentation document which highlights the tremendous potential, yet unrealised, here in Medway," he said.
"Some may laugh and think this club has little to offer such investors but I have always believed the club has a great future and is capable, not least on a demographic basis, of going much further given the appropriate investment available. Who knows what might happen in the time ahead?"
Speaking in his programme notes for Saturday’s game against Grimsby, Mr Scally pointed out the recent money pumped into Manchester City from a company in the United Arab Emirates – a country he resides in.
"Manchester City fans must be pinching themselves with disbelief at the investment," he said.
"Having spent some years following progress in the Emirates it doesn’t surprise me that investors and individuals from the Middle East are pushing into UK sport and specifically football."
