Mensa is a society for people with high IQs. The test Evan took, the Cattell B III exam, would require a score of 148 in order to be invited to join the society.

The youngest member of Mensa is four-years-old, whilst the oldest is 103.

Evan, a pupil of New Horizons Children's Academy, Park Crescent, Chatham, attended a Mensa testing day in Maidstone last month.

He lives with his parents Reny and Siju in Snodhurst Avenue, Chatham.

His hobbies include dancing, kung-fu and drumming, and he is able to solve a Rubik's cube in under a minute.

Mrs Thomas said: "We knew that he was gifted, but we never expected to receive such a high score.

"His teachers were not surprised because they expected him to achieve such results.

"The school helps him a lot in broadening his knowledge. If he gets a book, he will finish it within an hour or two.

"It's a very good gift, and it's a blessing."

Evan, whose favourite subject is maths, wants to become a mathematician when he is older.

He be starting at the Rochester Math School in September.
