Medway Coastguard called out after person spotted in river

A man has been taken to hospital after being rescued from a river.
Coastguard teams were called by police to help find a person spotted in the River Medway, who appeared to be unconscious.
Sheerness lifeboat crews, Medway coastguard and the search and rescue helicopter, based in Lydd, were seen scouring the river.
The man was recovered from the water, and has been taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.
Station Road and Canal Road in Strood are both closed as officers respond to the incident.
