M2 fully reopen from Junctions 2 and 3 after body found near Chatham

The M2 has reopened after a body was found by police.
The road was closed in both directions between between Junctions 2 (Strood) and 3 (Chatham).
The coast bound carriageway opened at around 10am and this was followed by the London bound carriageway at noon.
Police were called to the M2 at around 3.35am after receiving reports of concerns for the welfare of a man.
After attending the scene this morning a body was located and the motorway was shut.
A police spokesman said: "The death is not being treated as suspicious and police are compiling a report for the coroner.
"Motorists should consider alternative routes to avoid congestion."
The man’s family have been informed.
Motorists faced delays of several hours London-bound.
The overbridge on the Taddington Roundabout between the M2 London bound on slip and coastbound off-slip was re-opened at about 10am.
One lane was also closed for repairs on the A229 link road between the Lord Lees roundabout and the M2 junction following a vehicle fire yesterday. It reopened at around 10.10am.

Highways England said earlier there was about four miles of congestion as a result of the incident.
It has also been causing congestion in the surrounding area including on the A2 through Newington, Rainham, Chatham and Rochester.
The A249 has been busy in both directions between Maidstone and Sittingbourne.
