Quiet man with big voice can’t wait for Proms show at Rochester Castle

He was the quiet man with the big voice when he auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent.
But five years later Jonathan Antoine says he is so excited to be performing at this year’s Castle Concert Proms finale show on Saturday.
The tenor will be back on stage after appearing at Rochester two years ago.
He will perform with Laura Wright and the Hertfordshire Chorus to the dramatic sounds of the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
It is the only concert of the series which has any tickets left.
The 22-year-old said: “The venue is an amazing one. It is unrivalled experience. It is the coolest thing. The reception you get there is phenomenal.
“I know there are people coming to Rochester to see me from all over.
“They have contacted me to tell me they are coming from Scotland, the US and even Australia.
“It is very humbling knowing they are coming to see me and is a reminder to me to work very hard. I work daily in rehearsals so I can to remember the lyrics and get things right.
“I love The Proms. I love doing it, getting the feel for it, being patriotic about our country, the country I live in. It is so exciting.
“I am a heavy metal fan. I listen to very heavy stuff, but it is a beautiful thing to work with an orchestra which is one of the best in the world. It is a cut above.”
Jonathan could not reveal too much about the music he will be performing but hinted there would be at least one song which would fit in with the Battle of Medway 350th commemorations in the Towns last month.
He said: “It is a very popular song. I can’t wait to see and feel the reaction of people in the crowds.”
There is still time to get your hands on tickets for the concert which will concluded with a spectacular firework display.
Tickets cost £34.50. Visit tickets.medway.gov.uk or call the box office on 01634 338338.
