Firefighters attended a bonfire which spread to Kings Firth park in Wigmore

Smoke filled Kings Firth park in Wigmore last night after a bonfire spread to nearby trees.
Two fire engines arrived at the scene at 11.33am and dealt with the blaze within minutes.
Local resident Gary Guillon said: “Some of the residents thought the weather had suddenly turned foggy.
“The conifer trees acting as a fence that were ablaze.
“The high winds and park hedge made it a high risk of progression. The fire chief was standing on a flat roof and managed to control the blaze quickly.”
One person was taken away by paramedics but his condition is currently unkown.
