A man has been stabbed near a student block in a late-night attack.
A number of officers and emergency service vehicles were at the scene in Jeffery Street, Gillingham, at around 8.15pm.
The pavement behind Wilko was sealed off after a man, in his 20s, was left with puncture wounds following an assault.
One eyewitness said officers put a road block in place and divert cars.
She said: "We saw sirens outside and went to look and there was a police car each side of the crossing and they were diverting cars to go down James Street."
Police spokesman Jo Pattison said: "Police were called just before 8.15pm on Monday to reports a man had been assaulted in Jeffery Street, Gillingham.

One mum who lives on the street and wishes to remain anonymous through fear if reprisal said: "Crime around here is getting worse. I have a 13-year-old autistic son and am scared for him to leave the house."
