Medway firefighters tackle blaze in Heron Way, Chatham, after a suspected stolen car was set alight

Car thieves are believed to be behind a blaze in Princes Park, Chatham, last night.
Firefighters were called to a car fire in a parking area off Heron Way at 8.15pm.
A spokesperson from Medway fire station said the car was completely destroyed and it is thought to have been started deliberately.
It is suspected that the car was stolen over the weekend before being abandoned and set alight.
Kent Police is investigating.
A spokesman for the force said: "Kent Police was called just after 8pm to a report that a car was alight in Heron Way, Chatham.
"Officers attended and it is suspected the car was stolen from Snodland overnight between June 14 and 15. Enquiries are ongoing."
Firefighters also attended an incident in Twydall at 7.30pm last night, after a toaster had melted onto a hob.
A man had left the toaster on top of the cooker, and accidentally turned the hob on.
Two firemen with breathing apparatus put the fire out with a hose.No one was hurt in the incident.
