Medway 2025 has announced an opportunity for people to get involved in helping to shape its UK City of Culture bid.
This morning – working with Creative Medway – it launched its Great Big Ideas Call Out.
This was during an event attended by bid supporters on board the newly-revealed Medway 2025 bid boat.
The call out is open to everyone to make suggestions, pitch ideas and voice what they would like to see happen.
This is during 2025 and over the life of the area’s new decade-long cultural strategy, led by Creative Medway.
Digital resources are to be given to all schools to allow every youngster in education to submit their ideas.
Bosses want residents to think about creative commissions, public events, community projects or changes to places and spaces
Bid director Imogen Robertson said: “No idea is too big or too small, too serious or too silly – let your imaginations run wild.
"We want to hear from everyone across the whole area what they would like to see happen in Medway in 2025 and over the 10 years of the cultural strategy.
"How can we improve the lives of everyone here and tell our story to the wider world?
"We are particularly excited to hear from young people across Medway’s schools as well as the wider community, this is a chance for everyone to have their say.”
They also want to hear who people would like to see perform here, what opportunities they would like for locals and how they would like to bring the Towns to life.
Contributors will be invited to say if they would like to be involved in bringing their ideas to life themselves should they be picked.
The City of Culture branded boat will be working up and down the river throughout the summer.
Operator JetStream Tours invites people to share photos when they see it and book their own river tour via its website.
To submit an idea or to find out more about the bid, visit www.medway2025.co.uk or fill out a form at your local library.
