Suspected burglar charged after ‘dangerous’ police chase from Bank Street in Chatham

A suspected burglar has been charged after driving “dangerously” during a police chase.
Connor Robinson allegedly took off after being asked to pull over by officers who spotted a stolen car in Bank Street, Chatham.
Last Friday (August 2), a resident received notifications on her phone her bank cards had been used to make fraudulent purchases in the town centre.
The victim contacted the police to report the cards were stolen during a burglary at her home near The Brook.
Three days later, a second person living near Cross Street found her Nissan had been taken after the keys were stolen during a reported break-in.
Police were alerted and around an hour later officers saw the vehicle in Bank Street and requested the motorist to stop.
Instead, the car continued and was driven in an allegedly dangerous manner, pursued by the patrol.
The Nissan stopped in Walderslade Road and the occupants left on foot. Two people were later arrested and taken into custody.
Connor Robinson, of no fixed address, was charged with two burglaries, fraud, theft of a car, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis.
Mr Robinson, 29, appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 6.
He was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, September 2.
A 27-year-old woman from Chatham who was also detained and bailed to return to the police station on November 4, pending further investigation.
