Three men charged with drink driving in New Road, Chatham

Three men have been charged with suspected drink driving and four vehicles seized following a police crackdown.
Officers stopped nearly 60 vehicles in New Road, Chatham, and Fort Pitt Hill, Rochester on Friday, December 30 as part of proactive roadside checks.
Three men were stopped separately in New Road, Chatham, and were each arrested and later charged on suspicion of drink driving.
Jude Ade, 42, of Esplanade in Rochester and Dean Jarvis, 40, of Sturdee Avenue, Gillingham, were bailed and will appear before Maidstone Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, January 24.
Ali Murshed, 37, of James Street, Rochester was bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates' Court on February 1.
During the operation, a further 10 vehicles were issued with traffic offence reports for a variety of offences including drivers not wearing seatbelts.
Four vehicles were also seized for being driven without a licence, and two drivers were issued with defect rectification forms requiring then to fix issues with their vehicles.
Another three vehicles were searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act and one cannabis warning was issued, with a small seizure made.
