Teenager charged with attempted rape following alleged sexual assault in Great Lines Heritage Park, Gillingham

A teenager has been charged with attempted rape after a woman reported being threatened and assaulted in a park.
The victim had been walking in the Great Lines Heritage Park in Gillingham last Tuesday (August 20) when the alleged attack took place.
She reported being threatened and assaulted by an unknown male.
Detectives have been investigating and arrested a 16-year-old boy in the Sheerness area on Wednesday (August 28).
He has since been charged with attempted rape and remanded in custody.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday (August 30) and the case was adjourned until September 27 when the boy is due at Maidstone Crown Court.
