Teen critical in Medway Maritime Hospital after party at house in Priestfield Road in Gillingham

A teenager is fighting for his life after being found in a critical condition at a home in Gillingham.
The boy, who is 16, but has not been named, is being treated at Medway Maritime Hospital in the town after becoming ill during the early hours of this morning.
It is understood the teenager, who is not from the Medway Towns, was celebrating at a party at a house in Priestfield Road when he was taken ill.
After being taken to hospital via ambulance its is understood medics called in police because his condition was so critical.
Officers say they are investigating the circumstances of what happened at the address, but say as yet, they are not treating the incident as suspicious.
A police officer has been on guard outside the house for most of today and no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
A police spokesman said: “Police are investigating following a report of concern for the welfare of a 16-year-old boy.
“Officers were alerted to the incident at around 4.20am this morning.
“The 16-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital.
“Officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident and inquiries are ongoing.”
