Teenage boy arrested after back garden fire in Darnley Road, Strood

A teenager has been arrested after a fire broke out in a back garden.
Plumes of smoke were seen in Darnley Road, Strood yesterday evening (March 27).
An image received by KentOnline showed thick plumes coming from the blaze shortly after 5.30pm.
Another resident shared a photo of a shed on fire in the garden of the property.
Police has since confirmed an arrest has been made in connection with the blaze.
A spokesman for the force said: “It is reported the fire started in a shed and after spreading caused damage to nearby residential properties.
“A teenage boy was arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody.”
He was later released without charge.
A spokeswoman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service added: “Four fire engines attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using a hose reel jet and a main jet.
“One person was handed into the care of SECAmb paramedics after sustaining smoke inhalation.
“No other injuries were reported, and the cause is not yet known”.
Firefighters left the incident just before 8.20pm.
