With summer approaching some of us can’t wait to be sitting out in a beer garden having a chilled drink and bite to eat.
But if it’s still a bit chilly for you, a pub in Rochester might have come up with the answer - outdoor shacks.
Themed pods have been built in the grounds of The Granville, which will give you an early taste of wining and dining alfresco.
Whether it be The Enchanted Garden, The Rum Shack or Coastal Retreat, the cosy fully-kitted wooden sheds offer an unusual alternative to eating out.
They cost £40 for a two-and-a-half-hour slot or £60 for all evening and can accommodate up to eight guests each.
Landlord Warren Taylor said: “Three years on from our initial refurbishment we continue to build on the offer to our customers and ‘The Shacks’ are the next phase.
“Situated in our sunny beer garden at the rear of the pub they offer a bespoke dining experience. The first of its kind in Rochester.
“Choose from The Enchanted Garden, think fairy lights and florals. ‘The beach hut’ incorporating coastal vibes or ‘The Rum Shack’ bringing the Caribbean to Rochester we’ve got it covered.”
All three are heated and can be connected to your Bluetooth speaker to play your own playlist.
Warren added: “They are the ideal space for a private meal with friends or family celebration.
“Equally if you just want to enjoy drinks and a fun night out in your own space they’re great for that too.”
The hostelry in Maidstone Road has undergone a major facelift recently and now includes an upstairs restaurant available for hire.
