Motorists are facing delays on the M2 this morning after a pile-up on the Chatham junction slip road leading onto the coast-bound carriageway.
It is understood at least three cars and a lorry were involved in the smash which happened shortly before 8am at the slip road at junction 3 at the Taddington roundabout near Blue Bell Hill.
One motorist who saw the aftermath was Jenny Brown from Chatham.
Miss Brown said: “Two of the cars have managed to get to the hard shoulder, but one is facing the wrong way.
“Another car and a lorry had stopped on the actual M2 carriageway as the slip road meets it and they were also facing the wrong way round.
“There was a woman and what looked like her daughter standing at the side of the slip road.
“It must have just happened because as I drove past as the emergency services hadn’t even arrived at the scene.”
A spokesman Medway police said: “We were called at 7.37am following a road traffic collision involving several vehicles near junction 3 of the M2 coastbound.
“Injuries are still being assessed.”
