Forks of lightning were spotted in skies above Faversham at about 5pm shortly after reports of the first waves of gloomy skies were seen in Medway.

And some people in Rainham also reported a mini tornado over there homes as hail fell heavily in the town.

Hail storms are predicted throughout the evening by the Met Office across parts of Kent.

The storms have also brought some much-needed rain following a dry month in April.

Harry Scarce captured some dramatic video footage of forked lightning zig-zagging their way across the sky in Beltinge, near Herne Bay.
