A tiny kitten needs around the clock care after being found "cold and alone" with a chronic condition.
Penelope has been taken into the care of Wisteria Cat Rescue, Rochester, after being found in Parrock Street, Gravesend.
Charity founder, Billy Devitt, said: "Penelope came into our care after being found cold and alone by a member of the public who reached out to ask for our help.
"The finder tried their best to look after her but realised she needed around the clock care."
Nicknamed Penny, the young cat is estimated to be three or four weeks old and is fully dependent on human help.
Billy continued: "Sadly no other kittens or a mum was found within the area.
"She may possibly have hydrocephalus, a build-up of fluid in the brain, and Penny will now be hand-reared around the clock as she’s currently suffering with a little dehydration and gastro issues which we will monitor.
"The little one is being monitored but if she does have hydrocephalus it may be that when she gets older she'll need a stent that will drain away the excess fluid."
He appealed to people to "send Penelope lots of well wishes".
Wisteria Cat Rescue has asked that no homing requests are sent to the charity for Penelope as she is nowhere near ready to be adopted.
The rescue comes just days after the charity was targeted by thieves for a second time in the last 12 months.
Sentimental pet ashes, medical equipment and iPads were stolen from a lock-up in Walderslade.

Billy added: "Penny is so small and sadly underweight for her age."
"She must have been dumped, but this isn't your typical stray.
"Sadly with the cost of living crisis this is happening more and more."
