Man assaulted by robbers as he uses Lloyds bank ATM in Chatham

Two robbers assaulted a man in his 60s who was withdrawing cash from an ATM at high street bank in Chatham.

The tracksuit-wearing pair stole money from the victim after increasing the amount he was seeking to withdraw from the Lloyds cash dispenser.

After grabbing the money, the men ran off towards Manor Road.

The incident happened in broad daylight, at 12.50pm on Wednesday, February 2.

The suspects ran off towards Manor Road. One of the suspects was wearing an Adidas tracksuit with white stripes and white trainers. The other had a black tracksuit and black trainers.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

PC George Shokar said: "Investigators have been examining CCTV in the area and we are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to call the appeal line.

"We are also asking motorists with dashcam and residents with privately held CCTV, to check for footage that may assist the investigation.

"I would remind anyone seeking to use ATMs to ensure there is nobody near to them when they are entering their PIN and withdrawing cash."
