M2 coast-bound blocked between Rochester and Maidston after multi-vehicle crash near airport

Two separate crashes and a fallen tree have seen traffic chaos on a busy motorway.
Shortly before 5pm traffic was held on the coast-bound carriageway of the M2 for around an hour after a multi-vehicle crash between Junction 2 for Strood and Junction 3 for Maidstone.

Reports are that a vehicle has overturned near Rochester Airport.
Traffic officers were called to the scene and the road partially reopened at around 6.45pm.
By 7.30pm all lanes were back in use.
Highways England reported delays of around 90 minutes at their peak.
Elsewhere on the M2, one lane was closed London-bound due to a fallen tree after Junction 6 for Faversham.
And, shortly before 7pm, it was reported one lane was also blocked due to a collision involving two cars London-bound at Junction 5 for Sittingbourne.
Both sections have since now fully reopened.
Emergency services have been contacted for further information.
