Commuters faced delays on trains this morning after the emergency services were called to Gillingham railway station after someone was said to be trespassing on the line.
The police were called to the station in Railway Street at about 5.45am after reports of concerns for the welfare of a woman.
The incident caused delays for commuters for a short while and despite dealing with the incident quickly, it still had a knock-on effect for those travelling on later trains towards the Capital.
One woman, 25, who was travelling from Chatham to Cannon Street, at about 8am said her train was about 25 minutes late.
She added: “There were a lot of people at Chatham waiting for the service, it was very late.”
A spokesman for police added: "Police were called at 05.13am to a report of concern for the welfare of a woman at Gillingham rail station.
"Officers attended and the British Transport Police is now managing the matter."
