Medway Tunnel closed due to broken down vehicle

A broken down vehicle in the Medway Tunnel caused long delays for drivers this evening.
Drivers found themselves stuck in queue stretching back towards Dock Road and along the A289 after the tunnel was blocked.
One lane was closed just after the tunnel heading towards Strood.
The broken down vehicle was cleared just after 7pm.
Sam Coulstock tweeted: "Problem in the Medway tunnel London bound, police on the scene, broken down vehicle causing delays".
According to traffic information, the A289 Medway Tunnel was partially blocked between Maritime Way and Anthonys Way with congestion on A231 Dock Road to Dock Road / Middle Street.
