Two Essex men charged with burglary after incident in Crestway, Chatham

Two men have been charged with burglary and will appear in court next month, after police were called to a home in Chatham.
Police arrested the pair in Crestway, Chatham, at about 5pm on Sunday, after the victim, a man in his 40s, called police to say he had been assaulted.
The men were at the victim’s property to repair his driveway, however they are believed to have asked the victim for some tools and once inside the house were reported to have been looking through drawers.
The victim confronted the duo and they are then reported to have assaulted the homeowner who quickly called the police and when officers attended and made the arrests.
Michael Cassidy, 18, of Wayletts, Leigh on Sea, Essex, has been charged with one count of burglary and one count of assault.
William Cassidy, 20, of Wayletts, Leigh on Sea, Essex, has been charged with one count of burglary.
Both men have been bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, November 28.
